Cincinnati Swerve wins its home opener in the first game of the 2017-2018 MASL2 season

The Cincinnati Swerve opened the 2017-18 M2 arena soccer season with a tense 6-5 victory over the Chicago Mustangs Saturday, December 2 at GameTime Training Center. In front of a standing-room-only crowd, Marc Hansson scored a power play with 27 seconds left in the game to complete a hat trick. Goals were also scored by Saliou Diop, Shawn Lamar, and Matt Kinkopf, while Corey P Whisenhunt earned the win in goal.

About the game, head coach Craig Rhodis commented “We have a very new team this year, so it’s nice to see the guys have some success early. Armando and his team are very good and difficult to play against, especially with many players on our team who are still learning how to play at this level. We caught a little luck tonight, but the team worked hard and stuck to the game plan. Our home crowd really enjoyed the game – the environment was great.”

The two teams battle each other on the field again this Saturday, December 9 – this time in Chicago. #MASL2 #M2
